Sampson High School Alumni Association (SHSAA) was founded in 1973 by a group of Sampson High School Graduates. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the concepts of:
- Establishing and maintaining continuous periodic fellowship and association among Sampson High School graduates and friends.
- Establishing and administering a scholarship fund for needy and worthy youth in Clinton and or Sampson County or descendants of Sampson High School Alumni Associated members.
- Promoting allegiance, support and fidelity among all Sampson High School graduates and associates.
- Uniting Sampson High School graduates in worthwhile community projects to help the needy and underprivileged
The association is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are nominated and elected by the membership.
SHSAA, Inc. publishes a newletter, The Communicator, quarterly, which is mailed to all members and contains news relating to the association, Sampson High School alumni and scholarship recipients.
An annual reunion, held every August, is the big event for the association, when hundreds of alumni gather to present chapter donations, award scholarships, renew old friendships and participate in various activities.
