To the question: Pursing a college education – Is it worth the cost? Randolph’s edited answer reads:
“ In the time in which we live, it is extremely difficult to find a good job, with benefits, that pays well and about which you are passionate. Even after you find it, there is still a chance that you may not be hired. All that you can do is to prepare yourself and take steps that are going to better your chances at being successful. One of those steps is going to college. Even though getting a piece of paper with your name on it doesn’t seem like a big deal, it is; and can open many doors for one who obtains it. Better job opportunities, higher salaries, and better possibilities of getting the job desired are some of the benefits of a college degree – making it well worth the cost. Most of the amenities that students pay or that are offered to them are quite beneficial such as the opportunity to live on campus, healthy food choices, use of technology for educational purposes and research, internships, study abroad programs, well-educated professors, mentoring programs, work-study programs, student medical services, college financial aid, scholarships and departmental tutoring . With all of these benefits and others not mentioned, I promised myself that whether I received a scholarship or not, I would not miss my opportunity of going to college. It is indeed worth every cent.”
