She had had the dream of becoming a Pediatric Nurse since 7th grade when she was treated with so much love and care by the nurse during visits to her pediatrician. She remembers how calm she felt when fears of necessary vaccinations were subsided. She wanted other children to experience that same calmness. It was decided, then and there, that she would become a pediatric Nurse.
Daisha further states that to achieve her career goal, a college degree is necessary. Her mother constantly encouraged her to do better. She received sound advice from her grandparents, especially her grandfather, a teacher and principal. He instilled in her the importance of education, mainly, repeating the staying encouraged message and pushing through challenges and fears to become the best possible student. “The cost of education is high, but worth it. A price tag cannot be placed on the ability to help children stay healthy; that is the best feeling in the world. I know this journey will not be easy, but with determination, I feel that I can accomplish anything”, she concludes.
