Amber is a 2014 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. She will be enrolling at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in the fall. She has chosen Public Policy and American Institutions as
her major.
Amber was a member of the National Honor Society and the Advanced Placement
Scholars Program serving on its Advisory Council and mentoring underclass AP students, member and tutor in the Spanish Honor Society, member of the National Council on youth leadership and National student leadership Conference for Law & Advocacy. She was treasurer of the Norsemen Community Service Club. Her involvement in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts and the Varsity Vikette Dance Team is extensive and impressive. Her Team was: National Champions in Pom, Kick, and Hip Hop (2011-2013 and ;Second Place National Title Holders in Jazz and Lyrical (2011 – 2013). Amber was Captain for two years, received UDA
All-American Dancer Award two consecutive years (2012 and 2013); was Vikette of the Year in 2012; received the Coach’s Award in 2012 and was the Most Inspirational Team Member in 2012. Her GPA was 4.295 out of a possible high of 4.0 with an amazing SAT score of 2110 and ACT score of 27. Amber is 5th in her class of 642.
Her school counselor rated her as an extraordinary young woman who has successfully balanced and completed an extremely rigorous high school course load. Amber is full of enthusiasm and determination and is well liked by her peers; she will be successful at Brown University and will be a positive influence on the culture of the Ivy League community.
Amber has been a quiet, well-liked and respected leader in her math classes –
Functions/Analytic Geometry, AP Calculus BC, noted her math teacher. Her grasp of material is outstanding and she has developed a deeper understanding of mathematics. Amber has the ability to relate to other students because of her unassuming manner and work ethics ranking her in high demand as a group member. Amber is a mature young woman who has demonstrated that she can handle a difficult academic schedule. She is poised, prepared and positioned to make her family and all of us proud in the Ivy League.
