On April 26th, high school seniors across the nation will be participating in National College Signing Day. The tradition began in May 2014 through First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher initiative which encourages students to pursue higher education.
Encouraging and enabling students to go on to college has been the Sampson High School Alumni Association’s mission since it was founded in 1973.
On College Signing Day and every day the SHSAA celebrates students for making a commitment to higher education. Every year we sponsor a college tour for middle school students to inspire kids to go to college at an early age. This year on College Signing Day, join the First Lady and the SHSAA in showing your support for students nationwide by:
- Talking to students about your college experience – where did you go, what did you study, what choices did you make (and why)?
- Posting a pic on social media sporting your college gear. Use hashtags #CollegeSigningDay, #ReachHigher and #SHSAA.
- Celebrate alumni who have gone on to college and succeeded.
Donate now to help the SHSAA continue its mission of sending kids to college!
