News & Events
The WMAC continues to play its part in the organization and is ending last year on a positive note. It was a year of change for the chapter. We solicited the help of an organization named Neighbor to Nations to assist with our Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) fundraiser for which we have been involved for years and takes place each fall. Neighbor to Nation recommended that we start using a DBA (Doing Business As) to better reflect the purpose of the organization. Acting on the recommendation, the required documentation was filed and we are now known as the Sampson Scholarship & Educational Fund. (Sampson High School Alumni Association)
The chapter participated in a fundraising campaign hosted by the United Way of The National Capital Area called Do More 24. The fundraiser is a one day event done by using Social Media. We used emails and Facebook to solicit donors. This was our first time participating and it was a very exciting and successful day as we watched donations come in.
As our world is changing we will continue to explore different ways to help SHSAA meet its goals of providing assistance where it is needed.
