Hannah Cierra Greene
$2000 SHSAA Academic Scholarship Recipient
Hannah is a 2021 graduate of Keenan High School in Columbia, South Carolina. Hannah has been accepted into North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University (A&T) in Greensboro, North Carolina where she will major in Psychology.
Hannah achieved the highest honors during her high school career. She is ranked number 2 out of a class of 118 students. She has taken classes that have challenged her academically and she was the victor. Her GPA was 3.855 out of a possible high of 4.0. Additionally, she is transferring 24 credits to A&T which she earned at Midlands Technical College. Hannah has already received three other scholarships to assist her in her pursuit of higher education. Hannah was also quite involved as member and leader in many extra-curricular activities, namely: National Honor Society, Beta Club, Student Athletic Advisory Council, Varsity Cheerleader, JV Cheerleading, Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America.
Her counselor rated her as a very personable well-rounded student who was poised, motivated, and respectful to her peers and adults alike. “She is mature, pleasant and of good moral standing. She makes thoughtful decisions realizing the impact of her choices.”
Hannah was described by her teachers as an excellent student with excellent academic potential. “She is conscientious and always aims above what is required and expected. She prioritizes to effectively manage and maximize her time. Hannah strives to achieve at the highest level of her ability.
Her statement on the pursuit of education beyond high school:
As the daughter of a single parent, I have always been told that I needed to attend college or learn a I have learned that I am a good student and want to pursue a college education to become a psychiatrist. After completing my undergraduate degree, I will attend medical school.
College is necessary for the career path that I have planned for my life.
