Kenzelle Morrisey
Local $6000 Need-Based Scholarship Recipient
Kenzelle is a 2021 graduate of Hobbton High School. He plans to attend University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte North Carolina to earn a degree in Business. At Hobbton High, he played and was captain of the Varsity Football team, ran Track and Field and was involved as a Peer Group Connection Leader. He achieved a weighted GPA of 3.28 and un-weighted GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. His class rank was 38 out of 118.
Kenzelle‘s Theatre teacher and Peer Group Connection Advisor, who taught him for four years, states the he is a wonderful young man. He always stepped up to mentor the freshmen as captain of the football team. He was selected for this honor and was a fantastic leader. She has witnessed him in many settings and environments and declared that he is indeed a driven leader who is enthusiastic about learning. She continues by saying that Kenzelle is a natural leader who gives positive energy to any conversation, but who also listens to others. He has so much intellectual promise and will be successful at UNC-C. He is a dependable young man who wants what’s best for himself and others.
To the question, why are you pursuing higher education, Kenzelle responded that, “a degree is vital to human growth." Growing up, he was told that “Knowledge is power; the more you know, the more dangerous you are.” He does advise that one should be passionate about the career chosen and be motivated by more than money. That single choice could be the difference between a life of happiness or disappointment.
