At-Large$6,000 Scholarship Recipient
Tyler is the recipient of the SHSAA, Inc. At-Large Scholarship in the amount of $6,000. Tyler graduated early and enrolled at Sampson Community College to begin college classes. He is now transferring to Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina where he plans to major in Biology. Tyler was involved in many extra-curricular activities before early graduation; namely, Track and Field, Fellowship of Christian Students, Spanish Honor Society, Black History Planning Committee, Hurricane Relief Mission and Band.
His teachers said that he was a bright young man, a strong and determined student, goal- oriented, good work habits. He takes his future seriously and, works well both independently and virtually. He believes that continuing one’s education will open doors for many possibilities that otherwise would not be available. He states that many people, including his mom – who is now deceased- have sacrificed so that he would have better. He will use this opportunity to move forward to help prove to this nation that Black Lives Matter and that we can make a difference.
