Local $6,000 Need-Based Scholarship Recipient
Jonathan Tevon Sampson, a 2013 graduate of Clinton High, was the winner of the local scholarship in the amount of $6,000. Jonathan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Sampson of Clinton, NC. He has an impressive academic high school record: GPA of 4.26, member of Beta Club, #20 of 187 students in his class, score of 1500 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and 23 of 36 on the ACT. He had excellent citizenship and attendance records as well. He was involved with Distributive Education Clubs of America, Clinton High Soccer Team, volunteer with Girls’ Soccer Team and recreational basketball, baseball, football and soccer. He served with community programs including: food drives, coat drives, clothing donations and the listed organizations: U-Care, Crisis Center, Bee Hive and the First Baptist Church Food Pantry. Jonathan is enrolled as a freshman in the Class of 2017 at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNC-W), with a major in Business Administration.
