At-Large $6000 Need-Based Scholarship Recipient
Forrest Russell Staton, one of the 234 senior graduates of the Class of 2013 of St. John’s College High School – an independent college preparatory day school located in Washington, DC – was the recipient of the $6000 at large scholarship. St John’s College High School focuses its curriculum on substantial courses in the disciplines of English, mathematics, science, foreign languages, social studies and the fine arts. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Russell Staton, Sr. of Mitchellville, Maryland. Forrest was a member of the National Honor Society, maintained a GPA of 3.4 to 3.5 and scored an impressive 1880 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). He served his high school as a Peer Minister, Student Body President, Varsity Basketball Player, Captain of Freshman and Junior Varsity Basketball Teams, Assistant Coordinator of summer basketball camps and sophomore Student Government Representative. Forrest is a high achiever demonstrated by attainment of his educational dreams and goals through his academic grade point average and his sports and student government leadership abilities. He dreams of becoming a doctor and provide medical assistance to under served minorities in urban and rural communities. Forrest is a freshman at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia with an anticipated major in Chemistry.
